I am a late 1940’s baby boomer now in the beginning of her sage-ing years married to the same wonderful guy with kids and grandchildren with absolutely no desire to retire — probably ever!
As a young girl, before the hormones smote me and stole my sanity temporarily during the teenage years, I would spend hours and hours designing dresses for my cut out dolls, but dreamed of being a teacher.
Instead — surprised myself here — I ended up working in the social welfare field (under the circumstances, I found it fascinating that my name Beverley Ann Stewart broken down sounded like “BE‐Verily‐A‐Steward”).
I enjoy working in this field! I love people! I love watching people reclaim or claim for the first time their personal power! I especially love it when women who never thought they could do it on their own, not only succeed but do so with amazing success never looking back! These women are pure inspiration for their courage and their strength!
Over the last 20 years I have dreamed of creating wearable art clothing, dabbled at it, but had no place to really do this — it takes space, my procrastinating self insisted — until that is I found myself in a Poly Clay class creating beads, surprised that I was there — the rest, as they say, is history.
I work with whatever medium inspires me, or attracts my attention. I love beads buttons and charms of all types and sizes and love mixing them with fibers, fabrics ribbons and yarns.
Watch my site for new creations both in ARTWEAR jewelry and wearable art clothing. Right now ARTWEAR JEWELRY is what demands my time. But the wearable art clothing will come — I know it in my bones and feel it in my soul swirling about wanting, but not yet demanding expression.
You’ll be the first to see it right here.
Always,
Beverley of
